Summit: The Board Game is a survival game which, thanks to its two-sided game board and variable mechanisms, can be played competitively, cooperatively or solo.

In a competitive game, players race up and down the deadly mountain while managing their resources, building their path, overcoming obstacles, and attempting to survive their competition. Summit uses a unique karma system that allows players to actively help or hinder their opponents — but it also affects end game scoring. For a few extra points, you could share some of your valuable food or oxygen, or maybe you can afford to lose some points so you choose to cut their rope and watch them disappear down the mountain.

In a cooperative or solo game, players must now work together to overcome the mountain and survive the expedition. Summit is a game so grueling you need only one team member to survive the ascent and descent, so players may sacrifice themselves for the good of the team. The mountain has a "Sherpa Track" and a "Time of Day Track" added, as well as a whole new deck of cards. It is unlikely everyone will be returning from this expedition.

With over 190 unique cards, nearly 100 tiles, unique resource management and tracking on dual-layer asymmetrical player mats and the ability to customize your difficulty and game length, Summit guarantees you will never play the same game twice!

Gameplay

Dans le mode compétitif, les joueurs feront la course pour escalader puis redescendre la montagne mortelle en gérant leurs ressources, construisant leur parcours, surmontant les obstacles, et en essayant de survivre à leur rivalité. Sommet utilise un système unique de Karma qui pourra vous venir en aide ou ralentir vos opposants. Cependant, votre score sur la piste du Karma Temps est basé sur la votre façon de jouer ces cartes « Prends-ça ! » : gagner plus de points en partageant vos ressources ou en aidant un autre grimpeur ; ou perdre des points en coupant leur corde ou en les poussant vers le bas de la montagne.

Dans les modes coopératif ou solitaire, les joueurs doivent maintenant travailler ensemble pour surmonter la montagne et survivre à leur expédition. Sommet est un jeu si difficile qu’il suffit qu’un seul membre de l’équipe survive à l’ascension et la descente, les joueurs peuvent donc se sacrifier pour le bien de l’équipe. Ces modes se voient augmentés par une piste « Sherpa », une piste « Heure du Jour » et une nouvelle pioche de cartes évènements.

Avec plus de 190 cartes uniques, pas loin de 100 tuiles, une gestion de ressources unique, des plateaux de joueurs asymétriques et recto/verso, la possibilité de personnaliser votre difficulté et votre durée de partie, Sommet vous garantit de ne jamais jouer la même partie deux fois !
