The aim is to become the best "Mind Cycling Manager" by winning the most medals with your team: medals are awarded to the race winner (the cyclist who crosses the finish line first), the best sprinter (the cyclist who finishes the "sprint" section first), the best climber (the cyclist who finishes the "mountain pass" section first), and the best team (based on the places of the cyclists in each team in the final classification of the race).
In Mind Cycling, each player takes on the role of manager of a team of cyclists, seeking to dominate the race by using well-thought-out strategies and carefully managing their energy. The game takes place on a board representing a course with different sections, including plains, sprints and mountain passes.
On each turn, players move their cyclists a certain number of squares forward, diagonally or straight ahead, depending on the free squares in front of them. Cyclists cannot move sideways or backwards. The sprinter (green helmet) moves faster in sprint sections, the team-rider (blue helmet) in plain sections, and the climber (yellow helmet) in mountain pass sections. Each type of cyclist therefore has a different ability to move in different sections.
Strategies play a crucial role in the game. The “Wheel/Relay” strategy, for example, allows cyclists to form “trains” to improve their movement. A cyclist can follow or lead a train, maximizing group efficiency. Canisters (blue bases) offer the possibility of attacking, adding extra steps to the cyclist's movement in the appropriate sections. However, once used, the can is discarded, and the cyclist loses his ability to attack.
Wind is another important factor, reducing the speed of cyclists riding against it. Wind tokens are placed to indicate which cyclists are affected. Before each turn, players must analyze the cyclists' situation, including course sections, wind and possible strategies.
The game ends when the first cyclist crosses the finish line. Medals are awarded to the best cyclist, the best sprinter, the best climber and the best team. The player with the most medals in his team wins the “Best Mind Cycling Manager” trophy.
Will you have the stamina and strategy to lead your team to the podium?
