Everdell - Essential Edition, what is it? It is the same game with the majestic tree, the beautiful and cute cards and the huge game board. In a box in the same format. The difference is that the game's customized resources have been replaced by thick cardboard punchboards and the Solo version has been removed. You can get the Upgrade Pack separately to fully experience Everdell.

Gameplay

Everdell is a dynamic board-building and worker placement game.

On a player's turn, they can do one of three things:

a) Place a Worker: Each player has a collection of worker pieces. These are placed on board spaces, events, and destination cards. Workers perform various actions to help develop a player's board: gather resources, draw cards, and play other special actions.

b) Play a Card: Each player builds and fills a city; a tableau of 15 building and criteria cards. There are five types of cards: Travelers, Production, Destination, Governance, and Prosperity. Cards generate resources (twigs, resin, rocks, and berries), grant abilities, and ultimately score points. Card interactions reveal many strategies and an almost infinite variety of cities.

c) Prepare for the Next Season: Workers return to the players' supply and new workers are added. The game is played from winter until the beginning of the following winter, at which point the player with the city with the most points wins.
