Root the Role-playing Game dresses you from fur to paws. It's up to you to take on the role of mercenary Forest creatures fighting for money, justice or freedom.Based on the famous board game Root: Conflict in the Undergrowth, this game will take you on adventures as a woodland dweller!
Here you play vagabonds, outcasts from Forest society, living on the bangs, whether in the Forest itself or in remote locations. You're skilled and skilful, and not bound to any particular region or faction.
Gameplay
Root is based on the Apocalypse system, used in role-playing games such as Apocalypse World, Dungeon World, La Laverie, Monster of the Week....It uses 2 6-sided dice to emphasize simple storytelling and resolution of increasingly grandiose scenes.
Root lets you create stories, and its glade system allows for open scenarios that react to player choices.
